One of the founding organisers of March4Justice that rallied 110,000+ people in 200 locations around Australia in 14 days, a founding member for VoicesofGoldstein.org.au, a community group in the federal electorate of Goldstein focused on getting social issues, business prosperity, government integrity and climate action in the Australian federal parliament, and Campaign Manager for Zoe Daniel’s winning campaign for the seat of Goldstein at 2022 Federal election, Sue is an advocate for Gender Equality, Doughnut Economics, Circular Economy, STEMA Education, Representative Democracy, Ethics & Integrity, and Sustainable Business & Environmental Practices, and believes in the importance of paying it forward.

In 2019, Sue published her first paperback book, ‘142 Days of Gratitude that changed my life forever’, a treatise on the positive power of gratitude that delivers a masterclass in resilience. Sue lives in Goldstein with her family and is inspired by David Bowie, Rachel Carson, Kate Raworth & Maria Montessori.

Astrid is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina where she completed a Bachelor in Marketing at Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE).

Astrid worked as a marketing consultant in Buenos Aires before moving to Melbourne in 2003 where she continued working in marketing and business management. She has extensive experience across a broad range of industries and delivers consistent high quality outcomes for clients.

 

Jens Hartmann

Head of Learning and Development, Lead Trainer, Facilitator, Coach, Instructional Designer

Jens joined Barrett with a solid background in training, coaching and executive development as well as with extensive experience in the sales and service industries. He started in sales himself in 1988 and worked for several banks. For the last 30 years Jens has been developing and leading projects, managing the full spectrum of L&D functions: management consulting, project management, instructional design, implementation and facilitation of made-to-measure training & coaching programs. He is highly regarded as Management Development Specialist and Performance Coach with a strong sales and efficiency focus, especially in environments undergoing change and restructuring. Jens has worked with major corporations and financial institutions as well as for several universities and colleges.

He indulges in tailoring goal oriented competency frameworks, communication strategies, highly interactive training programs or complex L&D concepts for our customers. But he also enjoys being out in the field facilitating, coaching people and supporting them right in their everyday line of work.

Jens grew up in Germany where he first completed his degree in Business and Banking. After having worked for a couple of years, he also studied Communication at the University of Arts in Berlin. For many years he worked in cooperation with several consulting companies and was co-owner of one himself before he decided it was time for a sea change and moved to Melbourne.

Hannah Williamson

Hannah has worked in administration and strategy consultancy before joining Barrett in business development and client services. She trained as a graphic designer, graduating with a Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) in 2017, where her passion for human-centred design and Design Thinking blossomed. These human-first skills were a central reason she made the move into client services.

Some of her other passions include painting, pottery and art history. In her own time she drives her creativity as a fine artist and ceramics instructor, and loves wandering through art galleries and watching live music.

 

Jenny Gome

Jenny Gome

Partnerships and Business Development Manager

Jenny is a senior executive with deep commercial experience in the entertainment and music business sector.

For the last 20 years, Jenny has led frontline sales projects building, leading, and motivating large teams with high volume client contact, and smaller premium service teams specialised in high value complex clients. She has worked across industries including hospitality, retail, cinemas, aviation, event promoters and large stadiums, corporate, education, and government.

Jenny has experienced firsthand how the Barrett Selling Better Model can act as a change agent, creating a sales-driven culture across the business. She has a focus on customer advocacy, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and creating attentive and efficient service operations.

Trained as a classical music performer with a Bachelor of Music Performance, Jenny also majored in psychology and recently completed an Agile Ways of Working qualification at RMIT. She enjoys playing and watching sport, live music, and events.

Jenny manages partnerships and new client business development.

Jobst Schmalenbach

Jobst Schmalenbach

Geek & General Manager

Jobst is originally from Muenster in north west Germany, where he completed a trade apprenticeship as a Fitter and Turner and then went on to study Mechanical Engineering while working for his father’s business which supplied all the internal furnishing and painting needs including tools for homes and small businesses. Whilst studying he also drove for a large trucking company throughout Europe and was a DJ for a number of years. When Jobst graduated with a B Eng he took a position as a mechanical engineer but found the business and industry too restrictive.

Jobst migrated to Australia in 1989 and switched his focus to IT commencing a degree in Computer Science at Flinders University. He met Sue at the National Masters Swimming Titles in Brisbane in 1990 and later that year moved from Adelaide to Melbourne to continue his studies at Monash University where he completed a Bachelor of Digital Systems with First Class Honours. Having found his niche, Jobst has become a highly knowledgable and proficient IT professional who is very familiar and hands on with both hardware and software.

Jobst is Barrett’s General Manager and Technical Director, and is responsible for Systems Administration, web design and everything that has any connection with IT. Jobst is also known as Chief Geek. He basically makes things work.
